Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk

Gary Vaynerchuk is the poster boy for a small business that has leveraged passion, product, social media to stimulate incredible business growth and community around his brand…

Gary joined and built “Wine Library” through his family liquor store and grew the business from 3 to 60 million using the new age marketing strategies detailed in this book. Keep in mind, that this book was written in 2009 so some things have changed however, the overall message remains the same.

The real take away message from this book is that in the “new age” of life (with social media and just the way people consume information in general), there are opportunities everywhere to not only do what you love but actually create a business out of it.

It’s a great motivational/business book for anyone in need of a few ideas or a jump start to get you moving in the right direction.

Why Mastermind Groups Are Great To Grow Your Business

What is a mastermind?

Well described by Napoleon Hill in the book, “Think and grow Rich” it is “The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.”.

Masterminding in a group environment with piers sharing the same goals as you will propel your business much faster than doing it all alone. It’s a place to come together and work through challenging problems that you are currently facing or share ideas to help grow.

Some of the benefits of joining a mastermind group:

  • Surround yourself with like minded people with similar goals
  • Learn how to build your business
  • Accountability
  • Follow through
  • Learn from others who have already done it
  • Discuss challenges and problem solve

If you would like more information about how you can grow your business and meet with others who have similar goals and aspirations go to www.smartpizzamarketing.com/mastermind

Receive more information about this group and join our weekly discussions. Start taking yourself and your business to the next level.

Is Direct Mail Marketing Still Working?

Bryan Mull is the digital marketing guy over at Mail Shark but don’t let that title fool you. Bryan is bryan mullalso heavily involved with their direct mail campaigns for their many clients.

I wanted to have someone on the show that works in direct mail everyday and really knows what’s currently going on in the market. I understand after talking with so many successful pizza entrepreneurs, that direct mail is still a big part of their marketing efforts.

With all the technology and social media sites available, restaurant owners can become overwhelmed. They tend to start and stop many different avenues. Even with everything digitally available to you, there is still a need to get information into your customers actual mailbox and not just the mailbox they carry in their pocket.

Bryan and I go over what’s working with mailing campaigns and he also gives us some tips to make the campaigns we may be already doing, work even better.

What to Listen For:

  • How to get started with direct mail
  • The biggest mistakes made with direct mail
  • Why direct mail is still so important
  • The different strategies available
